Could Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 introduce GTA-like exploration? Recent leaks from Insomniac Studios suggest exciting possibilities, including a long-desired multiplayer mode.
If you’re into gaming, you’ve likely heard about the recent troubles at Insomniac. We wish the team strength as they navigate this challenging situation. They’re known for titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man and the Ratchet and Clank series. Unfortunately, their servers were recently hacked.
Hackers demanded $2 million in Bitcoin during a ransomware attack. When Insomniac refused to comply, they leaked 1.67 terabytes of sensitive data online. This included 1.3 million files that revealed future plans for various games.
Among the leaks, details about Marvel’s Wolverine game excited fans. However, let’s focus on the implications for Spider-Man 3. With the leaks now public, we can dive into what they revealed.
Many fans anticipated that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would feature multiplayer gameplay. Players hoped to team up as Miles Morales and Peter Parker to take down villains together. Sadly, this feature was scrapped before release.
With iconic foes like Kraven the Hunter, Venom, and Sandman in the mix, gamers wanted the chance to collaborate. Traditionally, Spider-Man operates solo, except when joining the Avengers.
The leaked information also hinted at a GTA-like experience within the Spider-Man universe. This could make gameplay more immersive and storytelling richer.
Given the popularity of multiplayer gaming, there’s a good chance Marvel will explore this for Spider-Man 3, which is still a few years away. Recently, Creative Director Bryan Intihar hinted about the next installment. In an interview, he compared the first two games to Marvel films, stating, “I think… if ‘Spider-Man 1’ was like… our ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Spider-Man 2’ was like a [‘Captain America:] Civil War,’ where do we logically go from there?”
It seems Marvel might adopt an “Avengers Assemble” approach for the third game, allowing players to enjoy multiplayer action. Predictions for Spider-Man 2 leaned this way, but these new leaks strengthen the case for Spider-Man 3.
Stay tuned for more updates as the excitement builds!
