What’s the Pitchers Show About?

Season 2 picks up seven years after the gang from Pitchers launched their start-up, Pragati AI. Things are different now. The dream is real, but Jitu’s absence leaves a void in the group. The three remaining members face new challenges as they navigate the ups and downs of growing a successful business.

What Works in Season 2?

Back in 2015, Pitchers introduced us to the start-up world, blending humor with relatable struggles. The show captured the essence of entrepreneurship in a way we hadn’t seen before. Created by Arunabh Kumar, the series stands out because he writes from personal experience. The characters feel like people we know, making it easy to relate.

This season, however, is more technical than emotional. The focus shifts to the grind of running a start-up, with fewer personal moments than Season 1. Instead of family drama or external conflicts, the team deals with the internal pressure of scaling their company. But, by the second half, Kumar adds just the right amount of emotional tension to remind us why we loved these characters.

Strong Performances

Naveen Kasturia continues to shine in the role of Navin, bringing his signature blend of confidence and insecurity. He adds depth to his character, even when things get tough. Arunabh Kumar, playing Yogi, feels authentic in the role. His quiet authority works even when he’s not in the spotlight.

Pitchers Season 2 Review

Abhay Mahajan has the most complex role, showing a clear transformation from the naive character of Season 1 to a co-founder of a billion-dollar company. He does justice to this shift in personality. Riddhi Dogra also makes an impact, despite her limited screen time, and we hope to see more of her in future seasons.

What Doesn’t Work?

While Season 2 offers plenty of insight into the start-up world, it lacks the emotional connection that made the first season special. We don’t get to dive deep into the personal lives of the characters, which makes the show feel less engaging. The absence of Jitu’s storyline leaves a noticeable gap, as his emotional journey was key to the original series’ charm.

Without those emotional stakes, the conflicts in the second season feel somewhat distant. Sure, there are challenges, but they don’t hit as hard. You never feel the urge to jump into the screen and help the characters, as you did in the first season. Additionally, the portrayal of influencers in the script feels forced and could have been handled better with more research.

Final Thoughts

Season 2 of Pitchers brings back the world we’ve missed, but it’s missing the emotional depth that made the first season memorable. While there’s much to learn about the tech and start-up ecosystem, the personal stories we connected with take a backseat. Fans of the show will enjoy the business side of things, but don’t expect the same emotional pull.
